QbD roadrunners show what they’re made of at the Antwerp Ten Miles
At QbD, we’re always focused on team efforts and top results. Also outside of the office, by the way. That’s why 19 QbD colleagues – 5 ladies, 14 gentleman – put on their running shoes for the yearly Antwerp Ten Miles on Sunday 26 April 2015. Four of the female QbD team members participated in the Ladies Run, while Charlotte Jans took part in the ‘regular’ Ten Miles.
The whole QbD team started in wave 3, and we all made it to the finish within 1 hour and 39 minutes. Once again, Wim Steenackers proved to be the fastest QbD roadrunner, finishing at 1:08:13. With an average of 14,16 km/h, he was barely able to avoid a speeding ticket. Overall, QbD came in 70th of 302 participating companies. A great result: our QbD runners could proudly and deservedly wear their medals!
Rain showers & pink shirts
And now for the weather. While the ladies were quite lucky in that regard, QbD’s gentlemen got wet from more than their own sweat alone, having to cope with a few rain showers. But that couldn’t spoil the fun. Because even though we didn’t break any global records, the fun atmosphere was certainly of world-class level. And our pink, logoed shirts made sure that there was no escaping from QbD in the streets of Antwerp.
Special thanks go to Daan Goeminne, who organized QbD’s sportive participation in the Antwerp Ten Miles. Needless to say, we look forward to improving our running times in next year’s edition. Maybe we should start in wave 2, or even in wave 1 then? Come on QbD, let’s show them what we’re all made of!
